Project Management Readiness Assessments

These assessments reveal what your organization really is capable of in project management. They quantify and assess the ability to consistently deliver excellence in performing projects. The criteria relate to the dimensions of organizational readiness, as specified in the OPMR model, and applied across up to 45 individual OPMR process cubes.

Assessments can be performed remotely, or on site.

Questions

1. Assessment Kickoff

The assessment is kicked off in a phone call (remote) or seminar (on-site). We give an introduction of the approach, and prepare the workshop and walk through our questionnaires.

2. Gathering Stakeholder Input

We question key stakeholders, to gather information about their organization's current abilities. The questionnaires consists of two parts. One remains more general and questions the general perception of the level of standardization across all process cubes. The other one asks specific questions about each of the process cubes.

Input typically comes from 5 to 10 sources inside the organization, including project managers, IT, operational management, and functional departments like procurement, HR, or finance.

The specific assessment asks more detailed questions. There are between 10 and 100 questions for each cube.

3. Analysis and Diagnosis

Using our proprietary assessment methodology and analysis tool, we then evaluate the input gathered.

The client then receives a 30-page write-up, containing:

  • A summary of key findings and recommendations
  • Scores of organizational readiness, by enabling dimension and overall
  • Strength-weakness, absolute and in relative terms
  • Prioritized recommendations and suggested maximum impact next steps
  • Graphical and statistical representation of results

4. Results Interpretation: On-site Presentation

Optional, but recommended, is an in-person presentation of results to key stakeholders in the organization. A senior CEI consultant will walk through the findings, and facilitate the development of an executable strategy with precise action items.

Good Decisions through Quantifiable Input

Good decisions can be made based on a variety of inputs.

However, one needs measurable criteria of success to manage and execute strategies. OPM Readiness and Maturity Assessments provide exactly that. They establish a baseline, and the ability to set priorities for action items and quantify strategic targets.

FAQ:

Can Readiness Assessments be combined with in-house Seminars and Workshops?

The two levels of OPMR Assessments can be performed with in-house Seminars and Workshops. The first one can effectively be combined with an Executive Seminar, to define the corporate vision. This involves the equivalent of 5 to 10 days of senior level consulting time, about half of it provided remotely, that results in a high-level summary and 15 page write up of a OPMR vision.

The second one is much more detailed, combining a Workshop with more detailed assessments. It involves the equivalent of 8 to 15 days of senior level consulting time and can effectively be combined with an in-house OPMR Workshop.
